Young lawyer Ellen Jane Tabuena Guillermo became the first graduate of Flora National High School (FNHS) to pass the Philippine Bar Examinations.
A consistent honor student, Ellen Jane finished elementary at Flora Central School in 2002 and secondary at FNHS in 2006.
While in college, she was a member of the dean’s list and finished her course in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the Cagayan State University in Tuguegarao City in 2011 and passed the board exam in 2012.
As a Certified Public Accountant, she started from the bottom of government service when she was employed with a Job Order status in the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Cagayan Valley regional office in Tuguegarao City.
Her perseverance paid-off when opportunity came after she was hired by the Commission on Audit (COA) Region II as a regular employee with the position of State Auditor I. She still works there. She had to manage time and effort while working at COA and at the same time attending classes thus in 2016 she finished Bachelor of Laws at the University of Cagayan Valley (UCV).
Immediately in her first take, she passed the November 2016 bar exams and one of 3,747 successful candidates who took their oath on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Ellen Jane, who turned 27 last January, is the second and youngest daughter of SPO4 Eulogio Cristobal Tabuena of Poblacion West Flora, Apayao who is with the Philippine National Police and Mrs. Delia Bauat Tabuena, a native of Brgy. Dumpao, Iguig, Cagayan who is Clerk III at the office of the Sangguniang Bayan of Flora.
Ellen Jane’s elder sister Edelyn is also a graduate of FCS and FNHS and currently teaching high school at the Aparri School of Arts and Trade.
The new lady lawyer is married to Apolinario Guillermo Jr. of Curva, Pamplona, Cagayan, also a Certified Public Accountant and works at COA. Their first baby will be coming out soon as she was six-month old pregnant. KN
Another pride of Poblacion West places 10th in Licensure Exam for Teachers
Another native of Poblacion West makes Flora proud after Racquel Abretan Luban placed 10th in the recent Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET) Secondary Level given on March 2017.
A proud Isnag, Luban was among seven other passers with a rating of 90.20 percent including a fellow graduate from St. Louis University in Baguio City, Melanie Locano Baniwas.
Racquel graduated valedictorian at the Flora Central School (FCS) in 1999, salutatorian at the Flora National High School (FNHS) in 2003 and she was a consistent member of the dean’s list. She was a scholar of the Province of Apayao while taking-up Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at SLU-Baguio, where she graduated in 2008.
Racquel took her Masters Degree, Major in Hospital Pharmacy and graduated Cum Laude in 2014 then she took units in B.S. Education majoring in Biological Science and took the LET in March 2017.
Raquel is the daughter of Eustaquia Awisi Abretan Luban and Emilio Colet Luban.
She is the youngest sister of Sonia Luban Madolora, a non-uniformed police staff at the Flora Municipal Police Station. KN
