Pob. East prohibits ‘wang-wang’

Wanting to reassert its reputation as Cordillera’s most peaceful community in 2015, Barangay Poblacion East approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of the so-called “Wang-wang” (horn) by motorcycle riders because this causes public disturbance.

The regulation is enforced from 7:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M.

In Ordinance No. 1 series of 2016 (Resolution enacting an ordinance regulating the use of modified muffler) explained that it has been observed that motorcycle owners or riders set-up their units just to cope up with the trend of today’s youth.

Accordingly, there are instances that these modified mufflers are the source of noise which brings disturbance  especially at night.

Violators will be fined P500 for first offense, P1,000 for second offense and confiscation of modified muffler or wang-wang for third offense.

It was signed by all members of the barangay council of Poblacion East headed by Manny Biggayan on May 14, 2016 and was sent for approval by the Sangguniang Bayan, which has deferred the issue for further review and discussion.

Biggayan is now an ex-officio member of SB following his recent election as President of the Liga ng Barangay on July 20.

Kagawad members of Barangay Poblacion East are Allan D. Caluya, Allan C. Barroga, Rolly O. Rodriguez, Mauricio T. Daquep, Jewel B. Nicolas, Susana F. Retuta and Irwin Eulalio S. Ubay Jr.
